MFI Segovia

Segovia is a beautiful Dark Fawn female out of Magical Farms’ breeding program. Spring Willow, Segovia’s Dam, is Beige and when bred to MFI Scimitar, a Med. Silver Grey, they produced this Dark Fawn female with a soft, fine, dense and excellently crimped fleece. Segovia's pedigree is impressive, with notable names such as Accoyo Peruvian Leon, NWA LTD Sunshine (the Dam of the famous Grey male Shaquille,) and CPeruvian Silvio. Segovia's colored background makes her a fabulous stepping-stone to Black or Rose-Grey cria. Often the best Grey and Black fleeces incorporate other lighter colors in their pedigree, since those colors tend to have better character and density.

Segovia was the 2nd highest selling female at the 2004 Breeder’s Choice Auction. She then started her show career at the Breeder's Choice Futurity taking first and Reserve Color Champion, and in the Spring 2005 Segovia took 2nd at MAPACA and a 4th at Futurity, both in yearling classes. Additionally, Segovia has maintained her quality, check out her 2010 histogram--21.6 AFD at 6.5 years of age!

Segovia has produced some very nice cria for us. Most notable was her 2007 pairing with Snowmass Nova’s Nuance, which produced Skyline’s Pizzicato. Pizzicato took Black Color Champion as a yearling at the 2009 Great Western Alpaca Show in Denver, a very large level V show. Segovia's 2009 breeding, again to Nova’s Nuance, produced another awesome cria with a 2010 histogram of 17.8 AFD, 3.1 SD, 17.3 CV, 0.8 %>30u.
